This very successful MOOC (massive open online course), the very first about fashion and luxury management, was launched in 2014 for the American platform Coursera and so far (2024) attended by more than 250.000 people globally!!! I’m very proud of this course available for free (unless you want a certificate from Coursera) to anyone, anywhere with a device and an internet connection. It allowed me to share my contents to an incredibly wide audience of diverse people.

program for Getsmarter with edX

Sustainable Fashion: Brand and Business Strategy Program | SDA Bocconi School of Management – GetSmarter

This executive course was launched in 2021 in collaboration with the international platform Getsmarter – edX with the objective to explore the fashion and luxury industry potential to design and implement sustainable business models and brandins strategies.

The target are professionals willing to explore the challenges associated to building a sustainable brand.

I first introduce an holistic view to sustainable fashion inspired by Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria.

Topics such as supply chain transparency, sustainability challenges for different business models (luxury, premium, fast fashion, sportswear brands), need for metrics and compliance, how sustainability teams should work, how to build a brand unique narrative about sustainable growth are discussed with the support of real-world, global cases and many guest speakers from fashion companies, financial institutions, fashion industry associations and consulting companies.

I have always been very interested and passionate about Chinese culture and the Chinese fashion system. I had the opportunity to teach and research at Fudan University in Shanghai for some years and since then I have visited China and Hong Kong many times for teaching and researching. I have books translated in Chinese.
